ALEX ABDEL-MALEK is a graduate of McGill University with over 12 years of professional clinical experience. Alex is a passionate and highly regarded instructor who regularly teaches counselling courses at the college and university level. He is a Registered Social Worker with the Board of Registered Social Workers of BC (BRSW), and a member of the BC Association of Social (BCASW). |

DOLORES BATE, MA, RCC is a teacher, therapist and founding director of the Vancouver Gestalt Training Institute. |

SUSAN CURTIS, MA, RCC registered clinical counselor. She does vocational testing, career counselling and sessions in life and work planning at the LCC. Susan has led many workshops for the Centre including Cognitive Restructuring: Positive Thinking Revisited, Career Resiliency and Self-Esteem. Susan is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and works part time for an Employee and Family Assistance Program. She has a private counselling practice on the westside of Vancouver where she counsels individuals and couples. Most recently, she has become certified to administer the Retirement Success Profile (RSP), an instrument that measures retirement readiness. |

SALLY HALLIDAY is a registered clinical counsellor with over a decade of professional experience as a clinician, instructor and workshop developer. Inspired by her own career change from journalism to counseling, Sally’s teaching, clinical work and academic research are focused on supporting others to make successful life and career transitions. Her clients range from working professionals and couples seeking EAP (Employee Assistance Program) support, to women in business and science. Sally is also the Managing Director of Counselling and Program Outreach for the Life & Career Centre and a respected instructor associated with such notable program as Working on Purpose: Life Shifts and Job Change. She is a member of the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Counselling Association. |

GARY HARPER, is the principal of Harper and Associates. He works with a variety of associates, each of whom specializes in an aspect of communication - as personal coaches, change managers, mediation, harassment and diversity.
Gary is a trainer, writer, speaker and facilitator who recently authored The Joy of Conflict Resolution. His workshops and presentations offer accessible, practical concepts and strategies to understand and resolve conflict |

ANN RICE, BA, BJ, CEC has facilitated the professional and personal development of adults for over twenty years with a range of popular programs at the UBC Life and Career Centre. They include: Bringing Emotional Intelligence to Life and Work, On Track: Planning and Living Your Authentic Life, Assertiveness Training, and Building Self-Esteem. Participants consistently commend her workshops their clarity, energy and warmth.
Ann has currently graduated from Royal Road University with a Certificate in Executive Coaching. |

VIKKI REYNOLDS, MA, RCC is currently writing a PhD addressing her supervision of solidarity model for therapeutic supervision which incorporates witnessing and commitments to both an ethics of resistance and the practices of social justice into sustaining and honouring supervision. Vikki’s therapeutic experience includes clinical supervision and therapy with refugees and survivors of torture, mental health and substance abuse counsellors in the downtown Eastside, and working alongside transgendered and queer communities. She also supervises therapy teams and activists independently and for non- profit agencies. Vikki is a human rights activist, and brings this analysis to her work. She works towards social justice on local and international levels. Vikki teaches Counselling at Vancouver Community College, and is an Instructor at City University in the Masters’ Program. She teaches at the Justice Institute, and is on the faculty of Yaletown Family Therapy. |

MARILEE SIGAL, MA, holds a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Doctorate of Psychology. In addition, Marilee has extensive training in the field of marriage and family therapy, solution focused therapy, and narrative therapy. |

CRISTINE URQUHART, MSW, RSW, is an active member of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and designs and delivers training for health and social service providers on effective communication methods for supporting change. Cristine is the Provincial Training Consultant for the ActNow BC - Healthy Choices in Pregnancy initiative at the British Columbia Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health. Her passion for teaching reflects her clinical experience in supporting individuals with substance use and other complex health concerns.
